What's a nixer, anyway?
In Ireland, a "nixer" is a job done on the side, real work, done well, usually by someone with a proper skill and not enough hours in the day. That word is the whole company.
It started as a marketplace.
Nixer.me launched as Ireland's skills and services marketplace, a place where painters, tutors, PTs and photographers could turn spare skills into a few extra quid, and where anyone could find a trusted local hand. Because a pint doesn't pay for itself.
Running that marketplace meant sitting with hundreds of small businesses and hearing the same thing over and over: the work is good, but the admin is drowning them. Missed calls, unanswered enquiries, quotes that never get followed up, the same ten questions answered forty times a week.
Then AI got good enough to actually help.
We started building AI agents for the businesses we knew, WhatsApp agents that answer after hours, assistants that keep the CRM honest, tools that draft the week's admin in minutes. They worked. Word spread. The builds got bigger, websites, apps, enterprise agents.
So now Nixer leads with what we've become: an AI-first agency that builds the websites, apps and AI agents putting businesses in charge of what's next, anywhere in the world. The marketplace is still here, still connecting skills with the people who need them. It's how we stay honest about what small business actually needs.
