Privacy policy
Plain-English version: we collect very little, we don't sell it, and you can ask us to delete it. Last updated 21 September 2026.
Who we are
This site is run by Carl Coates, trading as Nixer.me ("we"). We are the data controller for personal data collected through this site. Contact: carl@nixer.me.
What we collect and why
Messages you send us. If you email us or message us on WhatsApp (087 003 1681), we receive your name, contact details and whatever you tell us. We use it to reply, quote and deliver work you ask for. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before a contract, and our legitimate interest in running the business. WhatsApp messages are also processed by Meta under its own terms.
Analytics (only if you accept). If you click "Accept" on the cookie banner we use Google Analytics 4 to measure which pages are visited, with IP anonymisation switched on. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from "Cookie settings" in the footer. If you decline, no analytics run. See our cookie policy.
Hosting logs. Our host (Vercel) keeps standard server logs, such as IP address and page requested, for security and reliability.
Purchases. Course and marketplace payments are handled by Stripe on its own pages. We don't see or store your card details.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that run the site and business for us: Vercel (hosting), Google (analytics, if you accept), Meta (WhatsApp), Stripe (payments) and our email provider. We do not sell your data. Some of these providers process data outside the EEA under EU-approved safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
Enquiry messages: up to 24 months after the last contact unless you become a client. Client and invoicing records: 6 years, as Irish tax law requires. Analytics data: 14 months.
Your rights
Under GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Email carl@nixer.me and we'll respond within one month. You can also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above.
